It's been such a long time since I've written in this blog. I think I need to write here some more. We've been busy the past few weeks. We just got home from a 2 week vacation to So Cal. My cousin, Kathaleen, got married on 10/10/10 so that was the main reason we waited until October for a vacation. Trust me, it was needed much earlier in the year then when we took it. We got in on Saturday 10/2 and went straight to Disneyland. We got our annual passes and spent about 3 hours. It was raining and we were pretty tired, but the Tea Cups in the pouring rain with my baby girl was a blast. :) After that, we headed to Highland and staied with my father in law until 10/6. We visited with Kevin's family during those days and celebrated Kevin's birthday on 10/5. The morning of the 6th we headed out to Anaheim. We staied there until Friday 10/15. So about 9 days of Disney. Lilith did not want to come home! It was a long drive and I think next time, and everytime from now on, we will be flying. The main downside to the trip was too much family. We only had a couple of days all to ourselves. If it wasn't Kevin's family, it was mine. My parents flew down for the wedding and the following week to play at Disney with us. My Aunt Terry and Aunt Pammy both came out for a couple of days, too. I was thinking about this a little bit ago...the only vacation we have ever taken that was just us and no family was when we went to Japan in April 2006. I think we are in much need of one. Maybe next year. We'll be going back to Disney next Spring, but expecting some family then, too.
Anyway, the main reason I came to this blog and not my other...to complain about family. 1 in particular. Kevin's nana. She's brought up again me going to college after Lilith starts school. She brought it up when she visited in December/January. And again the night we had Kevin's birthday. Then a couple of days later brought it up again to Kevin on the phone about what she thinks I should do. Look, I'm not like you! I don't HAVE to go back to school if I don't want to. I'm very proud of Kevin for doing it (Oh, he graduates November 2nd!!! And is applying to Texas A&M's online Masters program.). Anyway, now she's saying I need to go to a fashion school. Yes, I enjoy sewing and would like to learn more things (like using a dressform and making my own pattern), but I would be happy to just take a few classes. And her telling me what she thinks I need to do just makes me want to NOT do things.
Anyway, I need to get back and finish reading Kevin's paper. I also have to get started on Lilith's Halloween costume. I'd like to get it finished before the MOMS Club Halloween Party...tomorrow afternoon at 330. LOL We will see. Pics when it's done. :)

Long time
It's been a long few months around here. And just when things start to settle down, Kevin starts a new term and my father in law wants to visit. Thankfully, Kevin told him not right now. We seem to have been non-stop since October. It's nice to not have anything going on right now.
October we had my brother's wedding so family was up for that. It was nice. Feelings were hurt. We had decided that because of how much it was going to cost us to be in it, it would be better if just Lilith was in it. Well, that upset Shawn. And he has yet to express his feelings to me. So, mom helped us out and we were a part of the wedding. (We were saving up for our Disney World trip and insurance.)
November we had our trip to Disney World finally. We spent 10 days there and had a lot of fun. We do want to go back, but not as offten as we originally thought and for not as long. For us, we like Disneyland a lot more. Maybe it's just what we grew up with. Lilith got her first official haircut there, too. And yes, I cried. When we got back, 2 of my aunts came up for my mom's 50th birthday. They were here for a week and had Thanksgiving with us. Grandma has handed it over to Kevin since he does such a good job. We also celebrated our 8th anniversary that week.
December, of course, was Christmas. We had a bit of an accident...the tree fell down into our glass coffee table. I always put the breakable ornaments up at the top, so we had about 6 break. Along with the top of the coffee table. Kevin got home just as I was getting kiddo out of time out for not listenning (she was told not to hang anymore ornaments because the tree kept leaning and that's when it fell). Some of them were ones that were just gotten. Mainly the one I just got from Disney World. Our neighbor's parents work there and tried to get me a new one, but they've been sold out of them. She's still keeping her eyes open and will buy one if she finds it. Kevin's nana came up right after Christmas...on the day we got a bunch of unexpected snow. They didn't get home until 10pm and her flight got in at 6. It's about a 45 minute drive.
January, we had Lilith's birthday party early so that nana could be there. Her birthday is on the 23rd, but the party was on the 9th. It turned out to be a good thing because I ended up in the hospital that Wednesday. The next Saturday, the 16th, I had an appendectomy. Now I have a 4" scar and a 1/2" one from the drain. My aunt Terry came up before I was released from the hospital to help take care of kiddo and me. She left on February 13th. It's taken awhile to start feeling normal again. I think the weather had an effect on me, too. I truely do enjoy the warmth and sunshine. The days that it's gloomy, cold, and rainy I'm quieter and lazier. Things were bad enough that Kevin kept questioning if I was ok. I knew I was, but something was just off. There were a lot of times that I just wanted to cry, but didn't know why. Oxycodone does some odd things to you, I'll tell you that!
Last weekend was Shawn and Veronica's baby shower. I'll talk about it some other time. We are very glad it's over. I have some very strong and hurt feelings when it comes to that.
For now, I need to go and get some things done. I'm so close to openning my Etsy shop. I need to get a few more things done for it, though.

I did it!
I feel silly saying this, but I paid the bills this morning. LOL Kevin and I have been talking about me taking over the finances for years. With him working, going to school, spending time with us, and wanting to start running again, there's just so much on his plate. At least this should help him some.
So, the other night, we went over things. He showed me all the sites to go to and bookmarked them, how to pay the things that need paid thru Wells Fargo, how he uses the budget he created years ago, and the new program/site he's been using (Mint). We were going to go over things again last night, but we ran out of time. And this morning, I did it all. It's going to take some time to get used to doing it and checking things every day, but I know I can do it. It's different now. Before when I took care of things, we still wrote checks. Now I only write 1 or 2. LOL
Pretty soon, I can check that off of my 101 list.

101 in 1001
Wow! I really suck at this. I went over my list a little bit ago and not much has been done. There are a few things that won't get done, too. Anyway, I'm going to try to do more of the things on my list. I do want to write more, just don't have the interest in doing it most days. A lot of the time, I sit down to write, but just don't know what do write. I'll try to write more...but for now, I need to finish checking Kevin's paper.

Emotional night
So last night I was rather emotional. Part of it was PMSing, I'm sure. I was just so frustrated. I had spent most of my day working on this stupid skirt from this tutorial. So, I basically wasted my day and 2 yards of fabric. The one I made for Lilith came out cute. I have a thought and might mess with it later today. Kevin said that the problem wasn't anything I did or didn't do, it was whoever created the tutorial. It's just a bad one. Lilith was not listening at all yesterday (or lately for that fact). And during nap time, she managed to tip her dresser over. Only 1 little thing broke, but it can be fixed. It was partly my fault for not strapping it to the wall. So, for "punishment," her bed got turned so the open side is against the wall. She was not happy about it last night and kept asking me to move it. I also moved her breakables out to the living room. I want to get a shelf for her room just for her breakables. And then, to make everything worse, the one pair of shorts that fit (and they were big), ripped and now has a huge hole in the butt. They're the pair I bought at the beginning of the summer when I was pregnant with Lilith. All my other pairs of shorts are small (except for the ones Heidi gave me which are too big). I have patterns for shorts, I just need to get some fabric and whatnot...or just go buy some.
Tamara really is a great friend...she left chocolate on my door last night. :)

My Wishlist
So, every now and then, I think of something I want. And when asked what I want, I can't ever think of something. Probably because everything I want is more then people would like to spend. So, here's a list of some things I've been wanting lately.

Babies, babies, everywhere!
It's like everyone around us are either pregnant, currently in labor, or have recently had a baby. And it's not helping my feelings. I would love to be pregnant and have a tiny baby again. But I think we're making the right choice with not having anymore. The cons outweigh the pros. (If you really want to see a list, I'll post one.) I'll have neices and nephews one day to hold and spoil. Some days, it's just hard. My baby grew up so fast! Kevin isn't helping. Yesterday, Lilith turned 2 years and 3 months. So what does Kevin say? "You'll be 3 in just 9 more months!"
